With twenty plus years experience in reading manuscripts I have developed a keen eye for drawing out the essence of a piece and getting rid of the extraneous. First, I will creatively edit your manuscript for style, content, and clarity. I will make some high level suggestions in a comment box to the right of the manuscript. These suggestions are intended to support and enhance the vision of the piece. You may use them "as is" or use them to inspire your writing. From there, you will do a rewrite and at our next coaching session we will go over it together. I will work with you to keep you engaged, focused and challenged when necessary, but you as the writer will ultimately make all the final creative decisions. The law of dynamics states that with just 5% of effort, the other 95% will automatically fall into place. This law can be applied to the magic of starting a new writing project. You don't need to know every detail of the story, article, poem, or book you are writing. You just need to have an idea, which is your 5% and then the inspiration, which is your 95%. Keep in mind that no idea is too big or too small to consider when you are creating. A fleeting thought may end up being just as powerful as your most profound observation. The important thing is to just begin it and allow your creative self to take over.
